Earthquake Jolts Delhi-NCR, No Injuries Reported

A magnitude 3.5 earthquake jolted Delhi-NCR and neighbouring areas on June 13, 2023, at around 3:58 PM IST. The epicentre of the earthquake was located near Jhajjar in Haryana, at a depth of 15 km. The tremors were felt in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and other parts of the National Capital Region.

There were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries. However, people in the affected areas were reportedly shaken by the tremors. Some people rushed out of their homes in panic.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) has advised people to stay calm and follow safety measures in case of an earthquake. These measures include:

  • Staying indoors and away from windows and doors.
  • Taking cover under a sturdy table or desk.
  • If outdoors, finding a clear spot away from buildings and other structures.
  • Crouching down with your head between your knees.

The NCS has also said that there is no need to panic as the earthquake was of a low magnitude. However, people should be aware of the risks of earthquakes and take necessary precautions.
